Converse’s Pre-Pharmacy program is a track for students who plan to pursue a Master of Occupational Therapy (MOT) degree after their undergraduate studies. The Pre-Pharmacy at Converse program provides a sequence of courses with a liberal arts foundation, for competitive application for admission to a Master of Occupational Therapy (MOT) Degree Program.
Pre-Pharmacy is a 2-, 3-, or 4-year program required for admission to pharmacy school and the Doctor of Pharmacy degree. The length of the pre-pharmacy program depends upon the abilities of the individual student, the pharmacy school of choice, and career goals.
Coursework
At most pharmacy schools, the majority of the first-year students already have a 4-year baccalaureate degree. Pre-Pharmacy students need to show a strong aptitude toward the natural sciences. Since pharmacy schools vary in their admission policies, a student should contact the school of choice for its exact requirements. Admission to most pharmacy schools is based on the following:
- Successful completion of Prerequisite Courses
- Cumulative and Prerequisite GPA
- PCAT scores (composite and writing)
- Interview evaluations
- Three letters of recommendations
- Pharmacy exposure
- Research Experience
- Extracurricular activities
- Honors/Awards

Application Tips
In addition to the above courses, some pharmacy schools require BIO 312 (Microbiology) and specific courses in the humanities.
Most Converse Pre-Pharmacy students major in chemistry or biology. Many pharmacy schools require prospective students to take the Pharmacy College Admission Test.
